Cooperation

ADENE – the Portuguese Energy Agency – is a leading entity in the national energy sector, dedicated to promoting energy and water efficiency, as well as the transition to a low-carbon economy. Institutional cooperation is one of ADENE’s strategic pillars, enabling the development of synergies and partnerships that drive the implementation of innovative projects with significant impact on society.

National Cooperation

ADENE actively collaborates with various public and private entities in Portugal, promoting energy and water efficiency through joint projects, awareness campaigns, and training programs. This cooperation aims to strengthen both ADENE’s internal technical and operational capacity and that of its partner institutions, contributing to the achievement of national sustainability goals.

It is a dynamic and inspiring ecosystem that fosters synergies to maximize the impact of everyone’s activities.

Local and Regional Energy Agencies

Local energy agencies play an essential role in the design and implementation of public policies, contributing to decentralised territorial action on energy and climate. They are also an ally in promoting energy literacy among the population.

The Covenant of Mayors voluntarily brings together European local and regional authorities committed to implementing the European Union’s climate and energy objectives, in particular the decarbonisation of cities.

International Cooperation

At the international level, ADENE participates in global energy networks and associations, such as EnR – European Energy Network and MEDENER – Mediterranean Association of National Agencies for Energy Management. Through these partnerships, ADENE develops technical and scientific cooperation projects, shares best practices, and promotes knowledge transfer in areas such as energy efficiency, water efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable resource management.

This is a commitment to strengthening joint actions for a positive and lasting impact on the global energy transition and sustainable development.

European Energy Network (EnR)

The European Energy Network (EnR) brings together 25 national energy agencies from across Europe, promoting knowledge across eight thematic areas to support energy policies and transnational programs.

MEDENER – Network of Mediterranean National Energy Agencies

A network of national energy agencies from 13 Mediterranean countries committed to a sustainable energy transition in the region.

European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy

Eceee is the largest non-profit, associative energy efficiency NGO in Europe, and its objective is to promote energy efficiency through cooperation and information exchange.
